The Board of Directors voted to cancel the 2020 Inductions to the Wall of Excellence at our July meeting. The board felt that it would be difficult and potentially unsafe to hold the traditional events held as part of the induction festivities which have traditionally been part of homecoming weekend in September. The activities include the inductees being recognized and invited to speak to the student body during the homecoming assembly, ride in the homecoming parade throughout Onalaska, the induction ceremony prior to the football game, and recognition during halftime. Travel arrangements for potential inductees and their friends and family were also a concern.
This comes after the board had already received four nominations to be considered for induction. The board voted to carry the four nominations over to the 2021 Wall of Excellence for consideration. More information on the nomination process for next year will be provided at a later date.
