Project Description
Dr. Claude Deck received the Purple Heart and Service Medals in the Korean War. He received his Masters and Doctorate Degrees in Educational Administration from UW-Madison and the University of Colorado. Dr. Deck was an Assistant Director of Personnel and Professor of Education at UW-La Crosse. As Superintendent of Schools in Onalaska, he restructured and implemented innovative educational programs, opened Northern Hills Elementary School, created a kindergarten center philosophy, established K-12 curriculum reform, provided mainstream opportunities to special needs students, and initiated the paraprofessional program to assist classroom teachers. He has also been recognized and honored with many distinguished service awards, commendations, and citations from the State of Wisconsin, the City of Onalaska, and the School District of Onalaska.

WHO WILL BE INDUCTED NEXT?
Nominations for the Wall of Excellence are accepted every year in the spring. Past nominations that have not been inducted can be nominated for consideration. There can be up to three inductees per year. The induction ceremonies are held in the fall as part of the homecoming festivities.
