Project Description
Dave and Barb Skogen were recognized for their commitment to the Onalaska community and school district. Dave and Barb have been married for forty-three years and successfully own and operate thirteen Festival Foods Stores in Wisconsin. Community involvement has always been important to Barb and Dave. Whether providing fireworks for the city or send Onalaska teachers to leadership training sessions…it’s all about giving back and being “servants” to the community. Both serve many committees and boards throughout the region. Examples include: the Omni Center Capital Campaign, Bethany Lutheran Homes, the John Shelton Hardwood Floor Campaign, the Onalaska YMCA, and UW-La Crosse Memorial Stadium Project. Dave and Barb were named outstanding philanthropists by the Association of Fundraising Professionals and receiving the Torch Award for Business Ethics and Integrity from the Wisconsin Better Business Bureau. Dave was recognized as the 1989 IGA International Retailer of the Year and 2005 Wisconsin Grocer of the Year.
